Tee Off into Spring

Spring Awakening on the Fairways 2026

Tee Off into Spring

From the end of March, as the days grow longer and the first warm rays of sunshine make the lakes sparkle, the golf season begins around Lake Wolfgangsee, Lake Attersee, Lake Mondsee and Lake Fuschlsee.

The nine golf courses of the Golf & Seen region invite players to pick up their clubs again after the winter break and enjoy the first rounds of the year. For passionate golfers, this time represents far more than just the start of a new season: it marks a ritual new beginning – a kind of “deep reset” for body and mind.

The Symbiosis of Deep Green and Crystal Blue

The courses in the Salzkammergut and the Salzburg Lake District are among the scenic jewels of Austria’s golf landscape. Surrounded by deep-blue lakes, rolling hills and an alpine backdrop, fairways unfold that combine sporting challenge with an immersive experience of nature.
Among the best-known courses are the Championship Course at Gut Altentann, designed by Jack Nicklaus, and the traditional Golf Club at Mondsee.

Golf as Balance for Body and Mind

After the winter months, many people feel the growing desire to spend time outdoors and become active again. Golf offers a unique combination: several hours in nature, moderate physical activity and the focus required for every single shot.
Step by step, a rhythm emerges – a balance of movement, concentration and calm.
The courses of the Golf & Seen region provide the perfect setting for this experience. Wide fairways, sporty hillside layouts and views of the surrounding lakes create an atmosphere where everyday life quickly fades into the background and the focus shifts entirely to the game.

A Golf Holiday with Moments of Indulgence

The Golf & Seen network also includes 20 partner hotels specialising in golf guests. After a round on the course, wellness areas, regional cuisine and lake-view terraces await – the perfect way to end a day of golf.
Anyone wishing to improve their game or take their first steps in golf will find suitable programmes in the region’s golf schools, ranging from introductory courses and licence programmes to individual coaching sessions. Many partner hotels also offer golf packages including overnight stays, reserved tee times and reduced green fees.
